Flavour Shaker
Jamie’s idea was to have a simple, hand held easy to use way of crushing & mixing spices, herbs etc where all ingredients would be contained and shaken until the grinding/crushing process was complete. The final design used the momentum of a ball moving up and down inside a container to crush the ingredients. The product is a two part polycarbonate product with TPE inserts and a ceramic ball that moves freely inside.

  • The product consists of two parts in polycarbonate with TPE inserts to help the product to be gripped securely in the hand
  • The base section has a capacity of 0.5 pints which allows the product to be used for vinaigrettes as well as rubs etc
  • The construction allows the product to be placed in a dishwasher for ease of cleaning
  • The shape helps funnel the ball causing maximum impact to the ingredients for crushing
  • The construction allows colour to be introduced to the product
  • A ceramic ball designed to tackle the hygiene and odour issues
  • The material usage was important to make sure the necessary price point could be achieved
